We recently posted the story of a couple who arrived at the mother/baby unit of The University of Kansas Hospital just before the Royals 5th World Series game thinking their baby was on the way. Nurses told them it was a false alarm. They eagerly went home to watch the game and saw the first pitch, last inning and game celebrations before the baby decided to come in earnest.

We reported that Mom, Jianqi (prounounced Jen-Chee) Ferro and Dad, Jeff Ferro were trying to decide between four Royals names for their newborn son: Ben, Eric, Alex or Wade.  Jeff favored ‘Wade’ calling his son … his little ‘closer’.  Mom is a nurse at The University of Kansas Hospital in the burn unit.

The parents have now announced their choice: It's Benjamin Han Ferro. And yes, it is in honor of Royals second baseman Ben Zobrist, who recently welcomed a new baby girl of his own. Her name? Blaise Royal Zobrist.
