The Kansas City Royals have announced outfielder Alex Rios and pitcher Kelvin Herrera have the chickenpox, and both will miss some playing time while recovering.

While unable to address the specific cases of the two players, Dr. Dana Hawkinson, an infectious disease specialist at The University of Kansas Hospital, says it’s rare for adults to contract what is usually a childhood disease. The video is the raw, unedited news conference in which he discusses this and other topics regarding adults with chickenpox.
