            Women may now be able to turn on their sexual desire by taking a pill. The Food and Drug Administration approved filbanserin, a drug that boosts the libido of pre-menopausal women. Taken daily, the pill treats women suffering from Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder.

            But many doctors urge caution, saying the medicine is not for everyone. Danielle Staecker, MD, director of The Center for Pelvic Pain and Sexual Wellness at The University of Kansas Hospital, explains how this medicine is different from Viagra for men, why it’s not for everyone, what it treats and why doctors will need to undergo training before prescribing it for their patients.
