Kansas City, Kan- The Morning Medical Update discussed the importance of emergency action plans (EAPs) in sports, highlighting the story of Brennan Connell, who survived sudden cardiac arrest due to a well-prepared EAP.

Dr. David Smith emphasized that EAPs involve more than just AED use, including training for various emergencies.

  • Caitlin True shares a story about a student, Thomas Hoskins, who suffered an injury that triggered the EAP.
  • She talks about the importance of having emergency action plans for cheerleaders, who have a high per-participation rate of head and neck injuries.
