On Monday, March 23, U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and The University of Kansas Health System held a virtual news conference from Washington, D.C. and The University of Kansas Hospital broadcast studio regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Reporters submitted questions online for answering by the panel. Below is a recording of that news conference.
Sen. Moran provided a federal update live from Washington, D.C. and was joined in the hospital’s broadcast studio by:
- Tammy Peterman, President of the Kansas City Division, The University of Kansas Health System who talked about the current impact of the novel coronavirus on supplies and manpower here in KCK and throughout the health system.
- Steve Stites, MD, Chief Medical Officer, The University of Kansas Health System who talked about protecting yourself against community spread of the novel coronavirus and what to do if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
- Lee Norman, MD, Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment who talked about the statewide planning effort and the Kansas response plan.
