Thursday Media Briefing on COVID-19 From The University of Kansas Health System

Doctors today told reporters, “We are on the curve and how big that curve grows is entirely in the publics’ hands.”   Steve Stites, MD, Chief Medical Officer at the health system encouraged reporters to keep reminding the public to stay home and stay safe.  Dana Hawkinson, MD, medical director of infection prevention and control at the health system said, “People who continue to congregate and fail to stay home or maintain six feet apart are being irresponsible.”  Emergency Department Chair Chad Cannon, MD offered signs to help guide the public when they need to seek emergency help.

Tomorrow, Friday, March 26, the media call is at 8:00 a.m.  Doctors will update the number of patients with COVID-19 and share how community response is helping in the war against this novel virus.
