Five Things Every Pediatrician Sees Each Fall

This is the busiest time of year for pediatricians at The University of Kansas Health System. Children are already back to school, and the demand for regular school physicals plus sports physicals is at its highest. Plus, some kids who have been healthy all summer suddenly find themselves sick after being in close contact with their schoolmates.

Dr. Steve Lauer is one of those pediatricians at The University of Kansas Health System who finds his clinic rooms packed this time of year. In the video, he talks about the five most common reasons parents bring their kids to the doctor. Those five are asthma, pink eye, lice, ringworm and scabies. He describes each one and what parents can do help prevent them and what to do if they suspect their child has one of those conditions.
