Health System Strengthens Arrowhead Roster for Fan Care

The Kansas City Chiefs play their first home game of the regular season this weekend, and fans are expecting big things from a team that improved a lot since last season. But the Chiefs aren’t the only team at Arrowhead that made off-season improvements. The University of Kansas Health System, now in its eighth season of taking care of the Arrowhead fans on game day, have some coverage upgrades of their own.

In the video, Dr. Mark Scott, one of The University of Kansas Health System physicians who will staff the first aid center at Arrowhead, explains that all doctors there this season will be emergency medicine physicians. He explains how that really paid off in the pre-season when a fan came in and was diagnosed with a pre-stroke. That’s a common situation for emergency department doctors. Dr. Scott also offers tips for fans attending the game and tailgating in the hot, humid weather. He also looks ahead to the late-season games, when the frigid temperatures may catch many fans off guard.

The video also contains shots of one of the two first aid stations staffed by medical professionals from The University of Kansas Health System.
