By all accounts, this has been a divisive election year, and many are worried about the impact of this on children. Pediatric Behaviorist Martye Barnard of The University of Kansas Hospital believes it is very important for parents not to promote anger or resentment of the outcome to kids. In the video, Dr. Barnard says the focus should be on celebrating the electoral process regardless of the outcome and to encourage young people and teens to channel any anger over their candidate losing into volunteering and working harder at the next election.
