Thanks to area television stations who broadcast the story of a seriously ill patient who could not communicate any information about his life, family of Andre Minor are at his bedside at The University of Kansas Hospital tonight.
HIPAA permits The University of Kansas Hospital to disclose personal health information (PHI) to establish the identity of the patient.
An uncle saw a broadcast of pictures of the 34 year old man and alerted the man’s father, as well as other family and friends.
The family expressed its gratitude to area news organizations which spread the word of the young man’s plight.
Now, the family requests that its privacy be respected as it deals with medical issues in the days ahead.
