The University of Kansas Health System is one of just three places in the nation providing a specialized lung cancer surgery that speeds recovery to as little as two days. Dr. Nirmal Veeramachaneni (VEER-a-ma-chan-e-ni) places a small tube in the abdomen and creates only one incision in the lung, then removes tumors. Despite using only one incision, the procedure…called uniport…has produced lifesaving outcomes for patients.
