Monday Media Briefing on COVID-19 From The University of Kansas Health System

      Regional media participated in a joint phone interview with doctors from The University of Kansas Health System. Dana Hawkins, MD, medical director of infection prevention and control and Steve Stites, MD, chief medical officer, gave an update on COVID-19 and the current risk. They also addressed the following:

  • How Shelter in Place impcts the hospital
  • The differences between self-isolating at home and quarantining at home
  • What to do if someone in your household is sick with suspected COVID-19
  • Who is most at risk and how the majority of people can recover from home
