Officers Shot News Conference 4-5-23

Three Kansas City, Kansas police officers were shot and brought to The University of Kansas Health System this afternoon. All three sustained non life-threatening injuries. The full extent of their injuries and prognosis is not yet available.

The Kansas City, MO police department is handling the investigation. It is common for an outside agency to investigate officer-involved shootings. Questions about  the officers and circumstances of the shooting should be directed to the KCMO police.

Speaking at a news conference at The University of Kansas Health System were Dr. Sean Kumer, associate chief medical officer of The University of Kansas Health System and Chief Brad Deichler of the KU Medical Center Police Department. The full news conference, with reporter questions, is in the video.
