Poision-free Holiday Travel

The Poison Control Center at The University of Kansas Hospital typically sees an increase in calls to the hotline during the Holiday Travel season. Young children may come across Grandma's purse in the guest room with her medicine inside, medicine may not be stored in child-proof containers or may not be labeled. The medicine can look like candy to a child.

Stefanie Baines is a Poison Control Educator at The University of Kansas Hospital and she has these tips for poison-free travel.

1) Know your surroundings

2) Label all medicine clearly

3) Store medicine safely

4) Stay on schedule
