Remarkable Evidence Supporting HPV Vaccine

While Americans express concern about the reported ineffectiveness of the flu vaccine, there are new studies showing remarkable effectiveness of another vaccine.  Research on the human papillomavirus, or HPV, vaccine indicates women who had the vaccine ten to 15 years ago reported no cervical cancers and no head and neck cancers.  Dr. Kevin Ault, director of general obstetrics and gynecology at The University of Kansas Health System, was part of a national Centers for Disease Control committee evaluating HPV vaccines.

In the video, Dr. Ault says this study is the clearest proof yet of the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine.  But Dr. Ault warns that males need to be more vigilant in getting the vaccination to prevent head and neck cancers.  In addition to the interview there is video showing adolescents receiving the HPV vaccination.
