Royals Checked for Measles Immunizations

This year's Kansas City Royals player physicals at Spring Training in Surprise, Arizona had one new emphasis. The recent outbreaks of measles around the country caused physicians to check the immunization status of the players.

Dr. Joseph Noland says while checking for measles immunizations wasn't required of major league teams, the Royals and other teams decided to check measles immunizations as a precaution. Any player found not to have immunity was given a booster shot.
