It was just three hours into the new year when Isabella Jimenez came into the world, becoming the first baby of the year born at The University of Kansas Hospital.
The hospital and the family were ready to celebrate and the hospital provided a major league sized gift basket to welcome the young lady.
Nurses at the University of Kansas Hospital delivered the basket to mom Maria Delourdes Jimenez today. In it was merchandise donated by Kansas City Sports teams, including the world Champion Kansas City Royals. The Kansas City Chiefs not only donated merchandise, but a certificate proclaiming the baby as the first Chiefs Fan born in 2016. It may take a few years before Isabella can appreciate that.
The basket contained many practical items for baby care as well.
