Troopers Toy Delivery 12-15-23

Troopers from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Troop A, played Santa Claus today and delivered truckloads of toys to children at The University of Kansas Health System. The troopers were able to go from room to room to brighten the day for kids of all ages who are in the hospital during this holiday season.

The troopers’ annual toy drive honors Trooper Michael Newton who died in the line of duty in 2003. All donations of both cash and presents were made in his name and have been collected by the troopers for the last month.

The video contains shots of the troopers arriving and unloading the presents outside of the hospital and bringing them up to the Pediatric Inpatient Unit and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where they went room to room to make their deliveries.

Interviews are with Sgt. Andy Bell, Missouri Highway Patrol and Kaylee Boyle, nurse manager of the pediatric unit at The University of Kansas Health System.
